See some photos of us in the Gower on our Summer camp.
Weather was good, as was the surfing, power-kiting, walking, food and B-B-Q. Camp site and warden superb. All in all an excellent time.
Roll on September and the start of a new Scouting year.
So its all change in the Leadership……………..Goodbye to Steve and his dodgy choice in uniforms and welcome to Pazza ( Paul to the rest of us ). Bit like out the frying pan into the fire really.
Well we managed to survive the wettest night hike ever, the tents managed to keep us dry, pity the gazebo died on Friday night.
Yes 2008’s Sun- Run will be remembered for, attending with Galileo, lots of Sun, lots of wind, lots of rain – some really heavy and Richard B trying to kill himself on a bouncy castle. Thought – why is it young children manage these ‘dangerous’ playthings better that a 15-year old Scout! oh well…………..
For the record the Sun-Runners completed the course in 8 hours, 47 minutes – whilst the Moon Runners completed the course in 3 hours 52 minutes. Well done to all those who took part. Not to be outdone our ladies retained the Football competition – that’s 2 wins and a runners up spot in the past 3 years. Well done ladies.
A very enjoyable weekend – if a tad damp at times.
Well did the weather hamper our efforts during the Chase Walk? – based on the results not a chance. Well done to everyone who took part, but special credit must go to the parents who came 2nd in the ‘virgins’ event.
In all we came: Explorer event 2nd, 7 start-7 finish event 2nd, Virgins event 2nd, and the icing on the cake, Drake ESU won the overall trophy in 9hrs 51 minutes with Chris and Jacks team. ( Oh lets not forget 6th Scout Leaders who won the veterans event. )
Well done to everyone who took part.
An enjoyable French spring weekend of culture, cuisine – just a pity the Leaders had to tag along! See our slideshow below!
